When I was shopping for mine I was like a walking s2000 encyclopedia, at the time I got an amazing deal. I knew my VIN by heart because I knew what every component meant.

Be patient. MY03 back in 2006 it takes me more than 8 month to find her, and she only got 5003 miles. But I have to put about 750 miles to drove her home, love every sigle miles of it.
