They found it ditched in a canal. All the assholes took was the seats and instrument cluster and ruined the rest of the car by dumping it in a canal. Now my insurance company is gonna think it's a insurance job

That's why if you want to FIND your car you need something like this

http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/gp...e-logging.html
or
http://www.lojack.com/
if your in a covered area.

I like the ones that tell "you" where your car is, that way you can go get it or call the cops and tell them where it is and let them get it back.

well as least you had 3 days. one of my buddies totaled his car on the way from dealership
I knew a guy who did that with a motorcycle. Hit the guard rail directly across from the dealership.

It's not about having a garage or not...it's about living in the wrong area. In the country anyone trying to steal cars is more likely to get shot, arrested before they can finish the job or attacked by the residents dogs than actually steal a car.

Just moved to a new apartment last week, and don't receive my garage until next Friday. I've been a little nervous about theft, but I'm in a very nice area so I doubt I have much to worry about. Fingers crossed that my car doesn't get stolen within the next week, haha

Aww man. Better off this way. No salvage/theft title, and you get to start over. If it happens, don't let the insurance investigator get to you. In my experience with my stolen 99 Civic last year, they have their ways. You'll get your money, just tell the truth, and don't lose your cool if you can. I lost my cool and told the jerk I'd never steal my own car that was so freakin' reliable and worth more than I'd get from insurance. IDIOT. I won't park my S outside anymore now EVER from this incident. Stays in garage, due to this area not being so good.
Anyway, good luck sorting that out, and on your next car purchase.
