The King Motorsport number 90 had a harder fight on its hands Saturday at Lime Rock Park compared to the easy win a few weeks ago.

This time the number 39 Camaro stayed right on his ass from the get-go of the 30 lap race. There must have been a bobble where I couldn't see it and the Camaro took advantage of it and got ahead of the number 90.

It looked like it was doom for the S2000 and a second place but then, in this 30 lap race with some 30 cars, came along the overall winner, the number 18 T-1 Corvette. He was coming up to lap our friend in the S2000 and then had to lap the number 39 Camaro.

Well as luck would have it, the S2000 pulled over and let the Vette by but now he had to pass the Camaro. The timing worked perfectly in our favor.

He had to pass the Camaro on the main straight into Big Bend. When he set up the Camaro to pass on the right, guess who followed in a picture perfect pass???

That put the S2000 in the lead again for the final laps of the race and the S2000 won T-2 again!!!!

Thanks for the report S2000 Owner. I was wondering how the T2 race went this weekend. Looks like King and Kris have the S2000 figured out. Congrats Kris and Scott! I think that is 3 National wins this year for the car!

 

The only cars running in T-2 are Camaro's, Firebird's, Boxter and Boxter S, plus S2000's. Last year some tried to run a Z3 but that has no power so they put the Z3's in SSB (with Neon's -- chuckle ).

They don't allow any of the aero stuff on the S2000 --- no front spoiler, side strakes or rear deck spoiler; HOWEVER they do allow the Porsche to run a real wing on the back!!! The S2000 still beats him out!!

Great job of driving by the S2K. This just proves that the S2K is a great track car and can keep up with the big boys.

No, it's an SCCA club race, and the only television we get is at the Runoffs at Mid-Ohio. Hopefully a few more S2000's will attend this year's Runoffs. The last 2 years we had 1 S2000 each. Neil Sapp one year and Rick Gilhart the next. They didn't win, as the S2 is really not the car to have in T2 for most tracks. They've both moved on to SCCA Pro racing in other makes, BTW.
