In other words, the VTEC kick is just as strong in the '04-'05 models as it is in the pre-'04 models. Because the 2.2's pull harder at sub VTEC rpm's, the transition isn't as dramatic but full on VTEC performance is so close between the 2.0 and 2.2 engines that the difference isn't worth mentioning most of the time.

I also felt that the S2000 didn't feel that fast when I tried it. The one I drove was a MY02 and had gone approx 8 000 km. Strange feeling because I know that all the car magazines that have tested S2000 get good results when measuring the acceleration etc. Overall the car was great to drive in every aspect. Steering, handling, balance, gearbox great.
