S2000 from Toyota dealership
I'm currently looking into buying a used 2001 S2000 with around 15,500 miles on it, for approximately $24,000. I wanted to know a few things, hopefully you guys can help me out. This S2000 is being sold at a Toyota dealership, will this not allow me to get service and things like that done at a Honda dealership? Also, the Carfax record showed a clean record, but I'm not sure if all necessary TSB's and recalls have been done on this car. The salesman I talked to says that Carfax will only show TSB's and recalls that have not been serviced on the car. Is this true? Thanks for all your help guys and I hope to join you guys in some

That price is very hi. I just spoke again with a friend who attends the largest auction in the SE. S2000 prices have dropped like a stone. Normally there is a spring rebound that starts in mid dec as dealers pick up cars for sale in the Spring. This year prices are continuing to drop not go up. Take a look on ebay and you will get an idea of what people are willing to pay. 2004's used are going at auction for 24,500 with less then 3000 miles. TSB will never show up on carfax so there is no way to tell if they have been done. I would not pay more then 21,000 for that car.
Thats the price that they quoted, hopefully I'll be able to negotiate that down. I've been looking around and this is car caught my attention because of the low miles. I've seen MY2000's with more mileage going for almost the same price. The only thing that is bothering me is that it only has a half year of warranty left, and its being sold at a Toyota dealership.

Would this s2k happen to be at Toyota of Palo Alto? If so then let me know and I can give you the low down on the whole car. My co-worker did the inspection so I know what's ok or wrong with it.

2004's going for $24k??? I find that hard to believe unless maybe they are govt. seized properties. So if TSB's do not show up on Carfax, how does one find out if they've been done? Thanks for the insight. I thought the price was pretty decent compared to some other user car listings I've seen, but it seems I can go lower!

Here's my own experience since Oct this year.
'03 1,600 miles $27K with 7 year warranty, local trade, local owner. I thought about it for an hour & it was gone. That was a nice deal.
'03 6,000 miles, unknown history. Two bolts on front clip had wrench marks, no explanation offered. Dealer offered it to me at $26K . I declined & he called back two days later & offered it to me at $25K.
'02 8,000 miles, one owner, locally serviced, $25K - sold after 2 weeks.
'02 13,000 miles, unknown history, I turned it down at $22k.
Then I got tired of the crap & bought a new one
