The Takara/BinalTech ones are die-cast metal. The US Alternators are the ones that are plastic.

I have the US Windcharger. Got it from the G/F for christmas, and it only cost her $20

I have the die-cast JDM one, only cost me $35 when they first came out... sick toy!! reminds me of the transformers from the 80's when they were actually part metal... not like the plastic crap they give us now.
