This is really sad. Honda came out with the CR and Type S and none of these has anything engine upgrade. WTF!!! We might as well get a regular S2000.

i hate it everytime i go to honda and tells me that its going to be the last year for the s2000.... i think its time for them to come out with a whole different concept... let the s2000 be as it is!!

Very very interesting article. I've heard about all these rumours back then in 2003 about Honda hinting their development in an S2000-R, but I never knew Honda Japan actually invited people to test drive that thing. And I didn't know it was such a dramatic change in power and braking from the standard S2000 either.

Nevertheless, too bad Honda decided to scrap the TypeR plan in 2003, and only decided to proceed with the AP2 route. As much as I love the AP2, I would be happier had they come up with that kind of monster. I would be willing to pay 50 grand for that thing if Honda really did lighten up the car, shoved in a bigger engine, and got better suspension/braking systems to the extent that the article was saying. Those changes would truly bring the S2000

Wow- That S2000R thing seemed like it could have been a winner. Too bad they axed it... I will have to bookmark that page. Great find!

isnt the s2000 type s the exact same thing as the s2000 CR, only differnence would be the name used in japan and us market?
