S2000 Type S
[QUOTE=Ks320,Oct 23 2007, 01:51 PM]
Is that artcile BSing? Or is that for real? If that's real ...
Very very interesting article. I've heard about all these rumours back then in 2003 about Honda hinting their development in an S2000-R, but I never knew Honda Japan actually invited people to test drive that thing. And I didn't know it was such a dramatic change in power and braking from the standard S2000 either.
Nevertheless, too bad Honda decided to scrap the TypeR plan in 2003, and only decided to proceed with the AP2 route. As much as I love the AP2, I would be happier had they come up with that kind of monster. I would be willing to pay 50 grand for that thing if Honda really did lighten up the car, shoved in a bigger engine, and got better suspension/braking systems to the extent that the article was saying. Those changes would truly bring the S2000

isnt the s2000 type s the exact same thing as the s2000 CR, only differnence would be the name used in japan and us market?
These S2000 variants, including the new CR are just honda's attempt to remind everyone that the S2000 is still here (despite dwindling sales). Most non-enthusiasts who remember it's debut in 1999 probably assumed it was dead (as manifested by the title of this article that's over a year old: http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2006/08...onda_s200.html).
