Getting OT, why summer only? I've driven mine in 35 degrees top down and it's been great.

That puts me at $20,500 ( '06,bone stock, 35k miles).

Bought the car 6yrs ago for $22,500 with 25k miles

Not bad for all the fun I've had
Im not picking on you.
By that measure you've lost inflation adjusted $4k + gas + maintenance + insurance + the opportunity cost of the initial investment since you've bought it (S&P 500 is up 47% in that time period).

Still worth it?
Yup.

Its not an investment, its relatively cheap car fun.

Most of the miles replace miles that would be accumulated on another vehicle and insurance is cheap as a third car for an old guy.

I could have invested the money in the S&P while driving a used Camry and I'd have an extra $15k(?) and 6 fewer years left before the checkered flag

Anybody who thinks they're gonna make money on an S2k is dreaming.

YMMV, of course, but mine is summer only because (1) the extreme performance summer tires function poorly and there's risk of tire damage in cold temperatures (all season tires would negate this but I prefer better handling); (2) I'm in NE Ohio "lake effect snow" country where I sometimes catch the White-tail deer licking salt off my other cars; (3) I'm in Cleveland (AKA pot hole city). Not to mention the car is claustrophobic with the roof up. And I have another car that does fine in other than the summer. I went thru the "2-seat convertible sports car as an only car" phase years ago (heck I briefly went thru the "motorcycle only" phase too) and it (they) proved completely unsatisfactory even in Georgia!

Haha. I hear you. I'm in suburban Chicago. I just got the car. I don't love the idea of driving around in the salt though I've been having a lot of fun. Agree top down its claustrophobic and luckily I have another car to drive with back seats and a hard top. Currently its on all season tires and oem AP1 wheels. I'm thinking in April, I'll get AP2 size wheels and summer tires.

I'm not sure how I feel about next winter. I might rotate back to the all-seasons come November. The only downside is salt. I hate to think of the body panels of a Suzuka Blue as a wear and tear item, but I hate to think of not driving the S2000 when the temperatures allow. The car is simply way more fun than anything else I've driven.

You bet, but I'd rather have the S2000 instead.
There's a forth, I believe.

There are a lot a loyal Gen X and Y Honda enthusiasts who grew up around 90s Hondas who are looking for one of the three Honda halo cars (S2000, ITR, NSX) as their dream car and are driving the prices up, now they have dispensable income. These people would not even consider anything else for a substitute. I know of so many. Even my late baby boomer neighbour asked me if my car for sale anytime soon. It turns out he had an NSX new back in 1991 that he drove cross country down to Cali and back. Of course i said, "No."
