Good trade in value.

31k before taxes would be a fully loaded accord at list pricing.

I've found that the trade in thing is really just a game. The more they give you on the trade in the less they take off the price. I expect to see 8-10% off dealers pricing for new and 15ish on used cars - specifics of the deal need to be factored in.

Sad to see you go from an S to an Accord. They are two very different vehicles. Good you stayed in the Honda family.

Dealer will likely fix the roof and try to sell for 24-27k for your s.
car dealers need to eat too right?, i feel i got a fair deal.

when you trade-in, you shouldnt let them know you're going to trade in. you negotiate the price of the car first, then negotiate the trade-in. negotiating the price of the car takes more work, where the trade-in usually has little room for them to screw you since you play off of KBB or NADA values for a car. and if you are pre-approved for financing, bring that card in last, because they want to finance you (interest payments make THEM money), so they will hunt for a better interest rate for you. this does drag out the buying process, but you tend to get a decent deal. dealerships are sharks tho, so even when you think you got a "deal", they really didnt take a hit on their bottom line. you just slightly minimized their profits. Enjoy the Accord!

i feel the accord has better steering feel and better steering... it has a mechanical rack and pinion steering vs the electric steering in the s

the accord has more front end grip, makes sense since it has wider tires and more weight up front
Guess what, both cars have a mechanical rack and pinion steering system.

I can assure you the Accord does not have more front end grip than an S2000. That's going against the laws of physics.

Otherwise though congrats on the new car. Obviously if you traded in the S you're not that concerned about having a sports car anymore, and the Accord coupe is one of the few Honda models remaining that actually looks good and is somewhat fun to drive.

cool thanks for the comparison. i guess you needed more space so had to change up the cars?

i think i would get very bored of the accord after a few years...it's cool now cause it's brand new but 5 years from now it might seem outdated and dull...hopefully you'll get back into an s!
