s2000 vs ITR
Hoping to get some insight here . . . i have an ITR and was thinking about getting a 03 s2000. I was wondering if anyone has had expereince with both cars and could offer some advice. Maybe some of the pros and cons of this move. Thanks. Any advice is much appreciated!
My older brother drives a 00' Yellow ITR and I've driven a few times before and drive it every so often just to hear his mods... but even after everything, I still like the S2000 over the ITR
ITR- more roomy (i.e. trunk, backseat, etc), front wheel drive, 5 gears, sensitive clutch (might just be cuz of my brother) loose shifts, placement in gears gets a little confusing.. (i.m.o) 8.5k redline fwd...
S2k- more compact, crisp gear shifts, 6 gears, better handling, 9k redline, digital speedometer, stereo controls by the wheel, and of course... it has a little engine start button
rwd...
There's still a lot of differences between an ITR and an S2k... both cars are rare... an ITR being even more so now being replaced by the RSX-R. In the long run, the S2k still overpowers the ITR.... even with mods (headers, exhaust, camshafts, victor x manifold, throttle body, etc.) , the S2k can still take it on (personal experience again my brother)
But the choice in buying an S2k is entirely up to you, why not have both? a discontinued model and a roadster... I would

Your comparing a integra FWD car to a S2000 RWD sports car? That's apples and oranges my friend. I would compare the integra with the Toyota Celica, Prelude, or RSX. That's more in its performance bracket. Or even the Mitsu Eclipse. Just my opinion.
On the same note my friend owns a DC2 ITR with mods such as air filter/Buddy Club exhaust/Extractor and wanted to race with me. With those mods I thought it was gonna be close but I pulled away from him very easily and my S is stock with heavy 3 piece 18 inch wheels on it. But again, you can tell the hp difference in the top end because as we reached the top end the ITR seemed out of breath and the S's extra hp helped the car pull away. Top speed my car was 4 car length ahead of him. I still love and have respect for the ITR, it's a fun car to drive but I need a convertable : )

Thanks for all the help! In terms of handling I know there will be a difference, but for me (not experienced with RWD) would getting accostomed to driving this rocket be tough. I'm so familiar with ITR's handling and being able to push it to the edge and still maintain. Overall i think the s2k is incredible and I just want to be sure on every level that making a move from an ITR would be wise. Once again thanks for the input!
Actually, the ITR has the stiffer body.
There are normally aspirated ITRs that will beat an S2000 in a "street race". In the "real world" there isn't much between them. You can visit threads speaking of how close a well-driven RSX Type S is to an S2000... keep in mind that the ITR is quicker than the RSX.
I ADORE my ITR and I'm quite sure I'd ADORE much about an S2000. RWD vs FWD. I'd prefer RWD, but in the wet FWD is ultimately easier to exploit. It's easier to exploit wet or dry. If YOUR skills are up to RWD or you wish to learn RWD than an S2000 would be nice. If you're just learning a Miata would be better as it's more forgiving.
Personally, I'd like to own all three!
