Please dont anybody take me the wrong way i do not hate the S2k or do i bash on it in anyway

it is a very very unique car it is fun to drive and handles better than anyone can ask for

the car was just not for me im young and like more power the S2k is fast for what it is

i love cars, all kinds of cars i do not hate any cars ( maybe domestics J/K ) but if someone is lookng for a opinion on cars i'll give it to them

the S was very fun and yes at times i do miss driving it, it was very fun to drive cause of its size and very easy to drive hard not to mention the 9k red line was very fun

but i can write all day and so could every other member on this board about the 2 cars the only way to make a descesion is to drive both

off subject here but the s2k forums are by far the best i have spent more time, and posted wayyyyy more than i ever had on supraforums.com i dislike the supraforums very much

thers a lot of good people here

wow...... hey!!! Wow, this thread really caught my eye... and I feel the same way.. should I get a supra or a s2000... I have friends that own supras and s2000s..... both I must admit are great cars..... like what others have said.. if you wanna modify then go for a supra... if you wanna go stock get a s2000! I think I will just wait till my friend turbo his s2000 and I should see how it turns out. If your willing to deal with an older car but offer performance then go for a supra! If you want a newer car and great handling then get a s2000... I just say test drive both cars and see which one better suits you. hope that helps.

all the above points are valid.

I drove a used supra (non turbo) and was not that impressed. It felt large and heavy like a camaro.

If you are looking for a lot of power like a corvette than the supra is the way to go.

The S looks weak on paper but it feels faster than it is. It is a super fun car and fast enough for me. It is tight as a drum (I can't believe it's a convertible). light weight and as noted 9000 rpm.

either way they are both nice cars. If you want FAST the TT supra was faster than the S even stock it is 5.0 sec 0-60.

wow
thx for the replies
i been thinking about this for ages

man, there are a lot of super rich ppl here~!
i mean a lota the guys here have .....3 supras and an s2k?!?!?!
i am already saving up for just ONE car hahah

this is going to be my first car that i personally own (all my others are...ahem...my parents)

n e ways, im not too sure what the latest year supra is (i think i saw 97 somewhere?...i thought It was 94 ) but i mainly want a car that is fun to drive but still has a measure of functionality because i will be using it daily (i am still debatin whether or not through snow...)

as for being eyecatching, i actually dont want it to be eyecatching. flashy cars attract attention from cops and get keyed. both i would rather avoid. i mean, if your car is amazing, it doesn't need flashy graphics to let everyone know. tru racers can respect and appreciate a supra (^_^)

but i have always loved the way an S looks, it cries out to be driven. whenever i look into the drivers seat, i actually have to resist jumping into it. it pulls me in hahaha. i love the way it looks and the way it handles. but i know it isn't very winter driving friendly. I have wanted an s2k for the longest time

bottom line : i need a car than can be used 365 days (even if it means i have to wash it every week) a year that is also fun to drive and has "pimp" factor (hahaha....hey, thats what a car is for~!!!)

n e thoughts?

If you like convertibles, get the S2K! Thats the main reason why I bought my car. If the S2K was a hardtop coupe, I wouldnt get it.

the supra turbo engine is most likely the most durable plant ever put into a production vehichle. i have a friend in austin who has a blitz K-6 single turbo setup on a completely stock bottom end. he's putting down 840 whp and using a 150 shot to spool it. so if you wanna go fast, the sky is the limit.

It depends on what YOU want. Convertible S2000. Fast as crap Supra. I was in the same predicament you were in. I decided to buy the S2000 (for my wife - though I think I drive it more than she does ) and I already have a car fast as crap
I could not justify buying a used car for THAT much money unless it was something I REALLY wanted. Good Luck.

Dj Raven -

Prior to my '02 S2000, I had a '95 Supra TT.

If you want to modify the car, then the choice is clear - the Supra has much more aftermarket potential, and at a cheaper price. There's a million things you can do to the Supra, and the power comes relatively inexpensively. If you want to mod it conservatively, you can just go BPU, and if you want more than that, go single turbo. The Supra is a car that has the potential to be much, much, much faster, and with a few mods you can outrun most cars you're likely to encounter on the street...and the boost is intoxicating!

The S2000, in my mind, is at the opposite end of the spectrum. It's not as fast as the Supra, but can be a great deal more fun to drive at times (I say "at times" because there are definitely times when I just want massive power and nothing else). Going through the hills with the top down and engine revving high is a total blast, and gives a kind of excitement that I never really felt in the Supra. As others have said, if you plan to stay stock, the S2000 is a great car.

Either way, you'll be getting an awesome car. Personally, I love the S2000, and it's incredibly fun to drive, probably more so than the Supra. But overall, I'd have to say I like the Supra just marginally better, the turbo and the power is just addictive...thinking about picking one up next year as a project car.

I don't know but I've never mistaked a Supra for a Celica... When I see a Supra on the road, it demands respect and most give it. If you have the chance and find a decent used Supra, I say go for it...
