I would love to have paddle shifters on my S, but it won't happen.

I agree with most of the members here. Say NO to SMG. I hope Honda doesn't follow Miata's path. Miata has the SMG. '06 S wheels looks like Miata already.

Stick and clutch is so much more fun and takes more skills to master.

BTW, I rather have the hardtop over the SMG anyday.

how many here would like to see the last year of the S2K with a SMG transmission with f1 type shift paddles and six gears.
And what would this "last year of the S2K" be?

There are several features of the S2000 that set it apart from many other sports cars and one of them is its slick shifting manual tranny. I wouldn't trade it for anything else. It has the best tranny I've ever driven.

Paddles are for headmasters at boys school who get their jollies by wackoing the bad boys.

I think the S2000 cockpit, with all the F1 inspired tidbits, would look absolutely PERFECT with a pair of paddles behind the steering wheel. Anyone wanna photoshop somethin on the wheel?

i think an SMG in the s2000 would attract a lot of drivers who can't drive too well.. Not that SMG drivers are bad just that people would feel that an SMG is easier to drive..

The S2000 has the "slickest shifter on the planet," to quote Car and Driver. It would be a shame to replace it with a automated gearbox, and diminish the driving experience.

Now, what I really want from Honda is improved steering feel (I want the wheel to come alive, and transmit what the front wheels are doing), and a fixed hard top.
