Default s2000 warranty

I was wondering if the warranty would cover parts that are slightly damaged? Or does the part have to be completely broken? If a transmission is slightly worn due to hard driving, would the warranty cover it for a new tranny? thanks

Ok, here's the deal. The warranty only covers failures that are a result of a defect in materials and/or workmanship. No manufacturer will willingly replace a part, especially a major component like the entire transmission, if it failed due to "hard driving." They also do not warranty parts that wear in the normal use of the car. These parts include brakes, clutches, windshield wiper refills, drive belts, etc. I know that Honda has done some clutch replacements due to shifting problems, etc. This is a unique situation and I applaud Honda for taking this action but it is not the norm. I've seen clutches go metal to metal in as little as 20k miles and I've seen them last as long as 150k+. It's all in how you use, or abuse them. Same thing for brakes.

Is your transmission "slightly worn due to hard driving," or are you just asking a hypothetical question?

Drive Safe,
Steve R.

If you flat out tell them that you've been driving it hard, expect a laugh. On another note...ask them about this one: Honda advertises the car as going 0-60mph in less than 6 seconds. To do that, you must launch the car, there is no other way. Launching the car is very demanding on the tranny and will eventually break something. They must live up to their advertising claims and back it up, right?
