Ahhh good old Formula Honda. I will *NEVER* take my car anywhere else.

I drove there on a monday morning, prepared to pay almost $1000 for a new windshield (that's CDN funds, so about $2USD) and the service manager Scott said "oh man, looks like you got a stress crack...give me the keys, pick up your car tomorrow." ... Came back the next day to get the car, and the receipt said "$0.00 - Warranty winshield replacement" (that's CDN funds too).

I have to say, it doesn't matter WHAT kind of Honda you drive (I also take my Integra GS-R there for service), they treat *ALL* of their customers like they were your best friend.

Ask for Scott in service or Tony in the Body shop.

BTW - if you're in the area, stop by and ask to see Basil's (the owner of the dealership) 2001 Yellow w/hardtop, 18" Work, HID driving lights, COMPTECH supercharged! It looks SWEET.

Do you S2000 owners with pitted windshields use Rain-X (or anything like that) on your windshields? I heard a rumor that stuff like that can make the glass more brittle. I didn't really believe it, but maybe there is something to the story...

I agree that the windshield is a little too delicate. My car has 4k on it and has quite a few sparkles (looks like tree sap) and some tiny chips.

I believe that following too close to the cars in front of you (because they are driving way too slow for the fast lane) causes more of the damage.

Also STL has very few "good" roads

You got that right. The windshield on my 3-series has hundreds of little craters in it. Whenever I drive into the sun it's just awful.

The only thing that looks worse is the paint on the hood and front panel, which is green with white primer and has even more pits than the windshield. BTW, the roads here are fine, and there's very little gravel that I can see. It's the car. And it looks like the S2000 is going to do the same thing.

Hello all,

My windshield was very pitted, leading me to get an aftermarket one. Within two days, the new one was smacked with a small pebble. It caused another pit, and has started to crack. How bout driving with no windshields? I'd rather get hit in the face than pay hundreds of dollars to keep it clear. ;-)

Picked up my car 12/24/00. Got first windshield chip (okay, crater) same day. Spiderwebbed immediately, then grew to 6" or so crack within a couple of weeks. Replaced with PPG windshield 1/16/01. Replacement lasted until 3/29/01, when it was hit by another rock and immediately cracked, and was replaced with yet another brand (S2K is with my wife today, so can't check brand name) on 4/2/01. I've currently got just over 5K miles.

BTW, I've been driving since 1982 and have had exactly zero windshields replaced on any of my vehicles before the S2K. Thank goodness for zero-deductible glass insurance!

I'm actually surprise at how few paint chips I have with nearly 5000 miles. I do not follow close to anyone and stay especially far back from trucks. But the windshield mars far easier than any I've ever seen.

I have neither paint chips nor windshield pits after 6500 miles. I always stay well back of gravel, sand, construction material and disposal trucks and don't drive on unimproved roads (although NJ roads come close)!

What surprises me is that aftermarket glass is already available.
