Default Is the S2000 worth its MSRP?

All over the internet you see other forums bashing the s2000. They say that 240hp with little torque is not worth $30,000+. They say "It's just a Honda," "it's slow," "My Camaro could outrun it," "My Porsche could get more girls," etc. I am asking the owners on this board one question: Is your S2000 worth the money you paid for it?

My answer is an unwavering, resolute, resounding "yes." I have nothing else I can say.

Yes. I actually think it's a great value.

Yeah, we could spend more or drive the same old thing as everyone else, but WHY?

I love my S.

All I have to say is:

Me: "Your camero can beat me WHERE? In a 1/4mi track? Ok, so what. How about a road course?"
Camero Owner: "Well, I uhh, mmm, well."
Me: "Yeah, thought so."

Me: "So your d$ck is so small that you need a car to get women? Aren't you concerned about the kind of women you are meeting if they are only interested in your car?"
Porsche Owner: "But my Boxter is faster than your car too!"
Me: "No, not really, I would SMOKE your german a$$, But thanks for playing."
Porsche Owner: "But I paid over $20,000 more for my Boxter, it MUST be faster than your puny Honda!"
Me: "Fine then, do you want to race for pink slips?"
Porsche Owner: "Well, I umm, well, uhhh."
Me: "Yeah, and now I can AFFORD to actually take women out on dates because I saved $20,000."

Of course, I can get a little beligerant when there is ignorance involved. On a more polite note:

240HP out of a 2.0L I4 is way cool technology that has yet to be matched.
Leather seats, cruise control, power top, dash mount controls, rear-window defroster, power door locks, keyless entry, alloy wheels, and A/C. All Standard.
4 wheel disk brakes that are UNBELIEVABLE on a street car.
Formula One inspired design for the suspension and frame.

Faster than a Z4 or a Boxter for $10k-$20k LESS money. SIMILARLY equipeted! (Not adding in navi or other stuff not available on the S.)

Is a Camero a good value? No, it was a GREAT value at the time. However, how much was that Convertable Z28 brand new and fully loaded? $28-$29k? Mmmm, sounds pretty close to me.

Ive only had mine for a week so Im a little biased. But is it worth 30K, all I have to say is that I hope Honda never realizes that they are getting ripped off. In my opinion, there is no car out there that can bring you this much fun! Plus the expression of people who dont know about the car when you take them out and tell them that its only a 4, not a 6 ! Boxter, Z4, test drove them both and the S2K takes the cake hands down. Same goes for the 350Z. Its only worth 30K if you look at face value, add the fun factor in there and the car is worth so much more!
4 years ago I started looking at new cars, All my research has led me to one conclusion....this is the best car for me and it just keeps getting better. The Spa Yellow causes cops to look at me often though, but then again, the spa yellow causes EVERYONE to turn.

Plus you have the cache of owning what will be regarding as a fairly valuable future classic. As good as the Boxster and Camaro are, they are a dime a dozen. I dunno if in 15-20 years, the Boxster or 2000 Camaro will be held in a similar regard.

But I don't see too much S2k bashing in the other forums.
350Z guys are trying to figure out why exhaust + intake = less HP.
Supra guys just bash everyone.
Rx7 guys are too busy trying to find out what that puddle is under their car.
M3 guys are buying the most expensive things they can for their car.
Porsche guys are too busy trying to lynch Cayenne owners.
Domestic guys are ready to burn up the Ford plant for screwing up the new Mustang.

Have I missed anyone here?

I usually do not like to pay MSRP for ANY car. I got my S for 2K below MSRP. The dealership makes money for every car that they recieve. So they are are already made cash on the cars, then they mark up for the MSRP so there is more cash for them. Some places that sell STI's add a mark up ON TOP of that!
This car was worth every single last penny that I paid and will pay for it!
The quality of road car that this is, and the performance that it delivers for the price CAN NOT be beat. Boxter S's are sometimes 20K over our S's and they do handle as well.
American Muscle cars are ment for drag stips and 1/4 miles. People who say that in the 1/4 mile they would romp on us are totally right, and the people that try to drag the S2000 car are lame, its not what this car was ment for. This is a road and track car!

Largely hand made in relatively small numbers in Japan, no shared engines or platforms with any other car...
Yep, it's definitely worth it.

I should add that with that said, I did negotiate a selling price before I leased the car, I got it down to about 3K off MSRP because they were having a clearing event and I'm kind of a jack ass to dealers. Im not rude but I dont take any BS either. I was VERY leary of leasing but it kept my monthly payments down, I could have afforded the buy but I'm waiting for our union contract to go through and I didnt want to get myself out of wack in case of a strike (Im not expecting one but plan for the worst and hope for the best)

The question was is the car worth MSRP....yes, it definatly is. Should you pay MSRP HELL NO!
