One piece of advice I will give you is this. Make sure you do a Carfax on it to make sure the mileage is legitimate. The gauges can be changed with a newer car with lower mileage on the ODO and you would never know unless you do a carfax. The mileage is stored in the ODO and not the ECU like some people think. If the seller has had any work done on it at a dealer or if he has done a state required emissions test, then carfax will record those mileage records. So make sure you do a carfax, it's like $14.

There is one on "www.craigslist.com" in the bay area, but it has 67,000 miles on it. Its white with a black j's style hood and some other mods for $18,700 (it was an 00 or 01). Higher miles than you want, but the cheapest one I've ever seen!

2000 models seem to be a dime a dozen in Miami, Orlando, Dallas and Houston areas when I looked on ebay. Lots of lease returns that dealers were asking $18,500-$21,000 depending on milage. I would be patient and you will find one. I just bought an 01 here in MPLS for $21,000 with only 14K on the odometer but I looked for 2 months to get what I wanted. And dealers started listening to low ball offers around here once we got a foot of snow on the ground.

They were about 8 in town that were asking around $24k for a MY00 back in August, most of those are STILL for sale. I went to look at a 00 Silverstone at a place called "Brookdale Honda" they started at $25k four months ago, are still trying to get $22k and would not go lower. And the car is trashed. Cosmetically it looked like it had 200,000 miles on it. Not a body panel on the car without a scratch on it and touch up paint all over it that looks like someone put it on with their feet. They also represent it by email as in "perfect condition" If anyone is searching for one on the internet and comes up with Brookdale Honda, keep looking. I wasted a couple hours of my time going out to look at it.

People (especially dealers) up here seem to think it is still as hard to find one as when they first came out. The only MY00 for sale locally at $24k that was interesting is one with the Vortech SC.
