S2000's dropping like flys...
Mine got wrecked before I'd even had my first oil change, I'd had it just about 2 months. Combination of a tool in an F150 trying to cut me off and ice melter on the road (I swear that stuff is slicker than the snow it's supposed to melt). I had damage to front and back from where I was wedged in between the F150 and a Camry but it was only about $3300 damage.
The main thing is that of all the reports of damaged and totaled S2000's; I only know of one in CA where 1 or 2 deaths were involved; and one in Hong Kong where one may have been involved.
So far everyone (other than those two examples) has walked away. This even includes a few rollovers.
About two dozen accidents have been reported by our members, who represent about 10% of the owners world wide. So I would say that at least 240 have bitten the dust out of 20,000 plus.
If there is a friend who is an actuary for an insurance company, he can give us the percentages.

That is one thing that I forgot to mention. I got slammed really hard from behind and the seats are just super in a rear impact, I didn't get hurt at all. Also, I got a pretty good demonstration of how stiff the chassis is in our car, most of the energy of the impact was transferred into the car in front of me. While my car had relatively minor damage, the front end of the car in front of me was just demolished!

Well that's obviously how the insurance companies interpret it. Unfortunately I beg to differ and in my case, I was NOT at fault and I proved it my way. And guess who's paying for my damages? The other dude's insurance company, not mine. So don't go around here pointing fingers cuz I'm already upset that I don't have my car in the garage right now.
