s2000's future value

thanks for the constructive response. but if you look at cars like supra's rx7's 240sx's. with the limited supply, number of them getting riced out, beat on, or mileage being driven up. I would think a clean, stock s2000 that does not get driven much would hold its value or depreciate little at the very least and maybe down the road say 10 years will start appreciating a bit in value.
hence why most S14a's are auto
240sx's weren't "limited". it only seems that way because only like 1 in a million has clean title, never wrecked, 5 spd, has no rust, and doesn't already have a stock sr w/o ac and ps.
mine was clean and i thought i got a good price for it when i sold to save for my s2k a year and half ago, but recently i look at them and they're still selling for about the same price. so i think the s2k's will maybe stay the same in terms of price or drop very slowly but it'll def. go down unless it's like <20k miles and stock.

I think it'll just slow down. For instance I have a 01, GS-R clean stock (mostly stock, put type-r oem parts on it), and I put it up for sale the other month. I compared it to other ones for sale and mine ended up being priced higher, simply because as FUNKshin stated, most of the GS-R's on the market are either all stolen, crashed, salvaged, or riced out. They're actually kind of rare! Type-R's even more so. So the value is still high, but by no means do the actually go 'up'. I ended up not selling my gs-r, figured I'd keep it as my DD. But on that note, I saw a pristine, yellow type-r for sale. Stock, very low miles, and it was still going for about 22k. So the value of that car never went up from msrp since 01. If anything it went down slightly more due to inflation.
Being somewhat rare, it'll just depreciate at a lesser rate than the average car. Honda did sell nearly 80,000 of these, so it's by no means "rare" and it will be a couple decades before attrition starts to push the value up.
Just enjoy your car. Very few if any mass production cars appreciate in the foreseeable future.

Interesting thread. From several dealer reps I've spoke with and searching the net using some choice key words it seems that the s2000 is destined to become a collectible item. There are a few reasons for this. One,as we all know is that production was ceased in 09'.Two ...while not exteremely rare they are still not exactly a common commodity even in their own time. Three..and probably most important is that the s2000 is a quite unique and classy looking and operating sports car.How much of a collectible commodity it becomes of course remains to be seen. I feel quite fortunate to have one and intend on preserving its luster. Cheers.
