S2K 2000 or 2003?
I am looking into purchasing 1 of the 2 years of the s2000.
Reason I choose 2000: the skidpad numbers, and I have heard the car "felt" faster. The car felt very, I dunno how to describe, straight. When you turned it turned better, when you accelerated, it felt like it picked up speed better.
Reason I choose 2003, reliable, more revised, less factory problems.
Bad parts of 2003: more weight, skidpad numbers not so good(not as good as the first year).
Tell me any and all of your opinions between the 2000 and 2003. Open floor shall we speak. I have never owned an s2k but I know people that have. I only want the 9K redline that is why I am sticking with the AP1.
Thank you everyone for your contributions.

MY03 has been refined over the previous MY's. Glass rear window instead of plastic, upgraded oil jet bolts, ECU tuned a little bit better are just a few to mention.
I can't give a non-biased opinion because I own a MY03, but I like my MY03.
Just my .02 cents

The only "real" differences between a 2000 and 2003 that I know of are:
Rear window is glass in 2003, plastic in 2000
Center console is leather in 2003, cloth in 2000
Shifter knobs are different (one isn't better than the other but they are different)
Component speakers with door tweeters in 2003
I'm sure others could list some small mechanical differences but in terms of serious upgrades there really weren't any. The glass window added some weight but not enough to make a difference number wise. Skidpad numbers should also be EXTREMELY similar between 2000 and 2003 models.
Anywho, I like the 2003 better simply for the simple additions listed above. Just my $.02.

my first S was an 03, and i was very happy with it. the rear glass window to me is just so much better than the plastic. now, where you got your numbers on the skid pad, not sure about that. i dont think honda really changed anything in the suspension from 00-03. the 04's had the big suspension change. you may be confused with 03/04.

i would stick with either a 02 or an 03 just because my friend has an 01 and his is just like a 00. he says everyday that he regrets not getting the 02 or 03 just for the stereo and the glass in the rear window
add to the list the different taillights (chrome rings on 02 & 03)
the weight difference MIGHT be 10 lbs. tops. But the 02-03 ECU is tuned slightly better so it more than makes up for it, trust me.
The skidpad numbers should not be different. They are basically the same car with a few minor differences. that could be due to the driver and the alignment on the test car...
to make it short, get the 03 if you can swing it...
