We could only hope Honda produces a replacement car in 3-4 years . Looking at Honda's track record I wouldn't doubt it. Better question, which will get a replacement first, the 350z (which came out about 2 years after the s2k) and is said to have a replacement in '09 or the s2k?

Honda has pulled the plug on the NSX, now it would make sense to me that they would keep atleast one sports car in their inventory.

The president of Honda Motor co. was quoted as saying that by 2007 all Honda and Acuras will have side curtains. Assuming the S2000s are not adaptable to side curtains, this means one of two things: MY2006 is that last year in order to meet the 2007 decree.

Or

It could be interpeted as calender year 2007. This means we could make a 2007 S2000 since it would be introduced in November of 2006. I think this is more likely since the Acura RSX is in the same boat. We're definitely not doing an all new car for 2007 since we already have the new RDX and all new MDX for this model year. This means the earliest we could do a new RSX is MY2008. Naturally this is introduced in calender year 2007, and it fits within the announced plans.

No, my bothers, uncles, cousins, sisters boyfriends next door neighbor did not give me this information. When I was asking our Acura rep about the RSX he gave me the scenario above for the RSX. I'm just extrapolating out for the S2000

Alejo lives in Pasadena Ca, Honda is not far away in Torrance Ca, so his story is geographically believable
Yup, that's where the dude works; savings in parts is unbelievable: he's getting me the OEM hardtop for $2,200 (shipping included).

Wait, doesn't the RSX have an option for side airbags already? Even my '01 civic had side airbags.

side curtains are different than side airbags.. side curtains drop down over windows to prevent any shards from flying into your face.. side airbags usually deploy from the seats

Well, that would cinch it for me, too. I'd follow the guy to the ends of the earth for saving me that kind of money.
