If a 911 were the same price as an S2000, I would still choose my S. I have nothing against 911's- they are just tailored to a different crowd, and the S2000 seems like it was built specifically for me. I like 911's very much, I LOVE my S2k.

1996 996 Turbo

Yes, I'd choose the 911 over a modded S2000 unless you were into racing @ the track.

Thanks for all the input. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my S2K, but like many of you, occasionally get irritated by the lack of low end torque. It'll probably be a year before I do anything, but I keep going back and forth on whether it would be worth it to make some changes or to keep it stock.

A regular 911 (actually 966) is no torque monster either at low RPM's. Don't get me wrong, it is fast and feels fast, but their are better directions to go if you are looking for that specifically.

I am unwilling to part with $70,000+ for a fair weather flyer. The S2K provides plenty of performance at a very reasonable price. The small increase in performance isn't worth the huge additional expense, to me anyway.

Given a choice between an S2000 and a 911, I'd have to go with the 911...at least until it needed to be repaired.

Prolene, just curious... Everytime I sit in a 911 or Boxster, the interiors just seem so plain and regular. Even compared to the s2000. Something just always feels like it's missing. Do you feel the same way?
