An S2K among IS300...
I didn't bring my camera so no pics, sorry.
I joined up with a group from IS300.net today so I could hear from the horse's mouth what they would like to buy in terms of aftermarket parts. There was quite a turn out at Shinesheet Motorsports down in Carson. Aside from the crowd generating, nearly stock Mingster Silver/Black (the best color) S2000
, there was the MotoRex "Black Bird" Nissan Skyline GTR (R34) that showed up along with its owner Ken from MotoRex. The RB26DETT sounded simply evil (in a good way
), and the car was astonishingly beautiful with muscular stance and everything required to make the dash to 60MPH in 4 seconds.
Roughly 15 IS300s showed, no yellow, which was somewhat disappointing to some of the owners. One of the IS300 was turbocharged by XS Engineering, and being an IS300 gathering, it was of course a crowd pleaser. We heard the car's BOV, and it was pretty nice - very low, smooth whisper of a sound. A supercharged GS400 showed up also. With a reported ~425HPs at the wheels, it was another eye catcher.
We walked around and chatted, but I think the highlight of the day was when I gave 3 guys a quick ride in my baby. Once they're strapped in, I took them on a quick ride through the first 3 gears, all VTEC. I also dropped the clutch once, spun the tire a bit (not my favorite thing to do, but it's a crowd pleaser) and showed them the errors of the "there's no power before 6K" myth. They loved it, of course, and one thought about trading his IS300 in for the S2000
All in all it was a pretty good meet, and I think I have a better understanding of the IS300 owners' needs.

Did you happen to hear whether that supercharged GS400 was using a TRD supercharger or another one? The TRD one isn't released yet, but it's been in testing forever on the GS400, Tundra, and Landcruiser V8. Just curious, since I know someone who is waiting on TRD to release it to retail. If it was the TRD one, it was probably one of the testers or TRD employees.
