S2k breakin period
I just crossed the 600 mile mark on the s2k. Have not vteced yet but thought I would check to see if there is an oil change that I needed to take care of before that. My understanding from the manual was that I need to do that only at 3750 miles.
The oil level seems to be ok - smack between the the high and low mark on the dipstick.
Checked the FAQs, could not get a unambiguous answer - would appreciate any inputs on this subject.
Cheers,

Who wrote that article? It does not seem official enough to be Honda. It does offer some good advice, but also some questionable.
The thing a lot of people seem to forget is that the length of time the oil is in the car plays a factor too. Normal non-synthetic oil will break down over time, so its recommended you change your oil regardless of miles after 6 months. With a lot of people using their S2Ks as weekend cars and putting on very few miles, its important to remember this.

^ Beautiful car. Everytime I see silverstone it reminds me that I must have it.
That is a good thing to keep in mind. I personally will drive this car every day, and will do my first oil change at the 3500 mark given that after my break-in plan (the 600-mile non-vtec break-in, and the slow-to-redline 400-mile break-in thereafter), this car will rarely see south of 5k rpms.

Remember, it says this only has to be done for the FIRST oil change. There is SPEICAL "break-in" oil in there that should stay in longer than any other oil change.
Honda printed this for a reason. My dealer has it posted on their wall, and I followed the same thing when I first got my car. Better safe than sorry later.
