Maybe it's just my imagination, but i have noticed in the few short weeks i have had my s2k that it seems to bring out the aggressiveness in some other drivers. This is something I didn't experience in my corvette nor in my altima. the s2k seems to beg some sort of weird attention, Has anyone exlse noticed this? Last night a guy kept on my tail no matter which lane I moved to. He then pulled along side and clearly wanted to race. I did not oblige hiom and then he just took off at about 75 in a 45 zone. I really didn't do anything to encouragge this sort of thing. I don't dawdle along nor do i flaunt what the s2k can do. Odd, but it has happened several times already.
Don't you have a turbo? I would have smoked whoever it was.

I used to get people trying to push me into a light/interstate race all the time (Mustangs, Eclipses, RSX's, Civics, Focuses, Camaros, etc...), but with a few exterior mods they don't really mess with me anymore

Now I'm having fun with Porsches, BMW's, and one time a Ferrari - but we don't race.......it is more having fun with higher speeds down the interstate when traffic (and cops ) is clear. Most of these folks are family friends or business associates so when we get to our destination we call each other to talk to a little smack, but I usually hear: "Wow, I did not know that little Honda could do that!"

To me, the term "ricer" generally refers to a Japanese branded car (although that may not be true all the time) that has had various aftermarket improvements (??) added to it that the owner "thinks" makes it faster.
The term RICER seems a shorter version of RICE BURNER

A RICE BURNER was originally a Subaru or Mitsubishi, an egg-box-type of vehicle with extra BHP. Usually hatchback. Unusual, needed a label, RICE BURNER was actually a good label which inferred it was a crap foreign car seeking to go faster. (true.)

RICE BURNER is a common insult for anything Japanese in that category.

The terminology refers to inserting rice into the fuel tank instead of gas. (Japanese people eat rice. Often.)

MX5 or other Japanese cars did not attract the same label as the Subaru's and Mitsu's as above.

The S2K in my opinion is outside of the definition of a RICE BURNER and in a completely different category of car.

Being Japanese is not the same as being an egg-box on wheels with stickers all over it...

I don't remember the exact numbers of the top of my head. There have been several road tests already and you can look up the specs as easy as I can but what I do remember is the 05 GT's are somewhat quicker than their predecessors.

The days of stock S2000's waxing stock Mustang GT's may be coming to an end.

Drive Safe,
Steve R.

PS: I really don't care either way!

Maybe I've been lucky because all the attention I've attracted has been positive. I get a lot of nods, smiles and thumbs up...not to mention compliments from strangers.

I haven't even had anyone try to instigate a race with me, except for one Holden Astra Turbo, and even in that case I suspect he was just having a lil' fun with his car, and not primarily trying to race me. Oh well...

i get it sometimes..... i usually get a wierd look like "what the hell is that young kid driving that car around"...

as for the 350z's.. i don't think they get it like we do.. there are just to many 350's out there and most are automatic and driven by someone that thinks the car is nice....

I get that look as well sometimes, come to think of it. I'm not that young, 24...but I look like I'm around 19 or 20, so yeah.
