Default s2k college safe?

So next year im off to college, my concern is will my car be safe. I go to a pretty sketchy high school and its safe there, but next year im going to college in a much sketchier city. Anyone have any experiences with taking this car to college? Id rather not have my car keyed or anything. Ive been told that it would probably be messed with, but there is a guy at NC State who drives a pretty new ferrari around and no one has messed with his car. However the 18 year old millionare isnt someone you really want to mess with. Taking another car isnt really a feasable option because im taking a car and my parents say i got the s2k i deal with the s2k (which i really have no problem with). But anyways getting back to my original question, will my s2k be safe in Duke's parking lot? Anyone with experiences please share. Thanks

u should drive by the parking lot one day and take note of the types of cars there. if you see cars in the lot that are more expensive than the s2000(like benz, bmw, etc, etc) then it should be fine. if every car in the lot is a beater of some sort, u should take caution.

Live in an off campus apartment and take the bus to school... that's what I do

Seeing a lot of nice cars may give you a false sense of security. I don't trust parking by ANYONE. You just NEVER know...

A lot of those nice cars belong to snobs that could care less about the car they drive since they probably aren't the ones who shelled out the cash to buy it. I've witnessed these people in a rush swinging their doors open leaving a nice ding on the car next to it. Fair warning.. that's all.. you can never be too careful!

Living off campus isnt an option, your first year you are required to live on campus. Chances are the lot will be full so i wont have a choice who i park next to, but i plan on trying to park in the spot with only one adjacent spot. I understand the whole not parking near anyone thing, when i get that chance, i go for it and park far far away and walk. All i can do is hope no one dings my car. I wont have to worry the entire year, my parents are letting me take the SUV for winter, so i get the s2k for fall and spring.

college is pretty safe. unless it's in the ghetto. usually college security guards are somewhat intelligent so you'll be fine.

The first year thing doesn't apply here at LSU.. I guess it's different everywheres. I don't see how the University can force you where to live... what if you wanted to live at home and commute to school? Sorry.. got a little off topic..

But I guess you're screwed..

Security guards don't sit and monitor every bit of activity on every car on campus.. so I don't see that as a good argument

18 year olds and s2000's ?. I'm not going to touch this subject.. but it will get keyed , stolen or vandalized if parked for any prolonged period of time where the owner is out of sight

I agree with you... I'm 19 though..

My car was backed into by some MOFO in my apartment parking lot... HIT AND RUN. So I guess my statement about parking at the apartment and riding the bus to school is pretty much irrelevant because it can happen ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, without you knowing.. even when you THINK your car is safe. If some punk wants to F*ck your car up, they will find a way. I thought my car was in the safest spot of them all. Hugest spot in my lot at the end of a row with a curb and tree next to me.. but some ass "accidentally" backs into me. *SIGH*

S2000's and any parking spot don't mix. Just drive your car all day and you might actually be safer...
