Great thread! Yeah, most z06vette.com guys are enthusiasts.

Just an FYI, though I'm sure you're aware, but be careful of posting pics of your daughter on the net. There are some WACKS out there.

Nice color choice on the S2000, btw!

The C6 interior? What didn't you like? I thought and still do think it was a great deal better than my S2000.
I feel that the interior on the c6 didn't recieve as much attention as the exterior(which I like very much). It feels a bit clunky and large. It's also somewhat dated - 90's era styling. It reminds me alot of a chevy truck my dad had during that time. Personally I believe it has something to do with differences between the domestics and imports in the design/details. Most Euro and Japanese cars seem to have more interesting/modern interiors. Now if the corvette had an interior on par with the s or any japanese or euro car, then maybe I would reconsider.

By that comparison you are telling me that the miata is better than the S2000? The C6 is harder to drive fast than the S2000. The C6 does not communicate what is going in in the same way the S2000 does. The power and weight is greater and that makes the car more difficult to control at the limit than the S2000. IMO the S2000 is very easy to control at the limit. The people that say differently are either inexperienced or just suck at driving. In the S you can usually just plant your right foot and point it where you want to go. The torque in the C6 makes that same input turn out rather bad. I'm not surprised you see more S2000's racing. One cost 30k the other cost 50k. I think the S2000 is more fun to drive on country backroads because of the "feeling." A totally open cockpit high revving engine, incredible tossability, great communication between the car and driver.
You nailed the parts about the S2000 - I don't have enough Vette time to comment on anything else though.

As a former S owner I can also atest to where its strengths and weaknesses are..........the weakness is in the torque (as we all know), but in nimble handling it cannot be beat by anything in the same price range. When I was a S2000 Owner I used to think there was nothing better under $60,000 but I was blind. I was blind by my love for the S2000. I still love the S, and would love to have another one (practicality is what did it in for me), but I now look back at some of the comments I made as a S owner and want to

Anyway.....I received a few PM's about this thread. Who wants it closed?

Thanks for the amusing thread guys! If I could trade (pretend the whole money thing doesn't exist) my S2000 for a C6 I would do it in a heartbeat.

I think the C6 is an awesome car, GM worries aside. The bang for the buck quotient is as high, if not higher than the S2k. Finances allowing, I would get one in a heartbeat. Wouldn't sell the S though...
