That's a matter of opinion. My "wrongness" has provided me a financially independent life. So I'll carry on being wrong.
Back to remedial accounting for you!

Whether or not you're wrong is not a matter of opinion. It's a fact. You are misusing the English language.

In your head, things may make sense to you, but that doesn't mean you're right. Your "wrongness" has nothing to do with your financially independent life. I'm not debating lifestyles, here. I'm talking about the definition and usage of the words "depreciating", "asset" and "liability". You can't go around changing the definition of words to suit your lifestyle... otherwise people wouldn't be able to carry on conversations because everybody would have their own personal meanings for words, but no one else would know which definition they are using.

So, the fact remains, you are wrong. You're misusing the words in question.

Anyway, carry on. I told myself I wasn't going to continue arguing this.

I can't? Changing of definitions is done everyday. Torture isn't torture, it's intensive interrogation. It's not a recession, it's an economic downturn.

I'm not about to hold myself to a higher standard than the office of the President.

In April 07 I paid $18K for a 2003 Honda certified NFR with a factory hardtop and 31K miles.

It still seems that there is a 11k-12K floor pricing wise for any clean example with less then 90K miles on it regardless of year. I think this will hold true for a while to come.

Unless you're looking to sell, who cares what market value is?
