This may be OT, but I was just wondering how you veterans or anyone else for that matter deal with the low driver position visibility problem. When trying to pull away from a stop sign and one of those SUVs or Dually pickups pulls beside and you can't see; what do you do? I find it irritating. Almost like waiting an hour for that perfect seat at the movies only to have a six foot woman with big hair sit in front of you. Sorry I'm only 5'6" and this is one of the only negatives of height impairment.

Let your instinct drive you...

Seriously, it's a big problem, this car is the worst when it comes to visibility, I'm just starting to get used to its wide front aisles that are especially annoying when driving down narrow underground parkings.

I just pull a visor over my eyes, and "Use the force".

Seriously, patience is called for in a situation like this. Our low height, and long bonnet make for some awkward traffic situations, but then Honda Odyssey's don't rev to 9K.

Remember when you were little, er, uh, I mean younger, how your mama either put you in a booster seat or you sat on a phone book? How about trying a small pillow to raise you up a bit. You sound like you may have the opposite problem from me. I'm 5'-10" but my inseam is ony 29". I'm tall from the waist up w/short legs, but I still like the wheel at least at arm's length. I'm not sure how tall people (over 6') with long legs do it.

LOL, I love that!
I doubt I'll have a problem getting comfortable in the car. My height has always been an advantage in that respect. I guess all you can do is wait till you have a clear traffic picture or like the man says; Use the Force!

I've never had a tall car, so I just sit and wait. Being in Texas, I do this a lot. Sigh.

I just ask the guy in the SUV blocking my view if it is OK to go, and then I take his word for it.

Oh man don't trust anyone elses word on traffic. I saw a bus driver take someone's word once. It wasn't clear and i got to see the car impact the left front tire of the bus. Ugly mess.
And your right, lots of big trucks in Texas, and even though they can see right over traffic, they still insist on pulling right past your line of sight.

Oh man, I hate it when you are trying to turn left into a multi-lane street. Someone will think they are doing you a big favor by stopping and waving you through, not realizing that there may be a semi-truck coming the the other lane and they are waving you into certain death.

Folks need to drive normally and let the driver judge when its safe to proceed.

I am 6' 1", and I have never notice vision problems. The only problem I have is seeing stop lights, especially with the top up. I have a 34" inseam, so my legs are fairly long, but I just put the seat all the way way back. In fact I actually tilt the seat back foward a bit, for my arms to be comfortable.

My 6'4" son actually moves the seat foward a bit, but then tilts the seat back as far back as possible. He rarely drives my car, and when he does, he is too tall with the top up.
