s2k for everyday use or special occasions?
I have finally decided to purchase the s2k as my first car, but is it a reallygood idea? If i do by this car im gonna have to use it everyday, and two of my friends who also own the car have an "everyday car" so they dont mess their s2ks up. so basically im asking will it hold up over a long period of time?
Personally I would never have bought this car had I not already owned the Accord I have. As much as I love this car it is just not a daily driving car IMO. Mine is for weekends and late nights only.
If your only concern is whether it will "hold up or not" I really don't think you have anything to worry about there as long as you keep the car in top shape. It is a Honda after all.

i use mine as a daily driver, and for the most part it's fine. the cabin is a bit cramped, the ride is a bit rough, and the noise is a bit interfering, but you learn to accept it after a while. the only thing i find annoying about the car is that it takes more effort to drive it gently and slowly as opposed to driving it hard and fast, so as a result i end up averaging 16-18mpg. not to take any "specialness" away from the car, but after you drive it a while as a daily driver, the car is just another honda...except it is one that is occasionally extremely fun to drive when you're in the mood to push it hard...
I also use mine as a daily driver. Yes it's somewhat noisey, cramped and a pain in the ass in traffic, but it's fun to drive and makes going to work more palatable. I even drive to and from appointments, so I'm in it all day. No doubt that a bigger car would be more comfortable though. The best thing if you can do it...is to switch off from your S2000 to the larger car once in a while. Good luck and have fun!

i use mine as a daily driver! i lovei t! wouldn't rather have any other car. Just price out the WHOLE package. Aka, wheels every 15k. (expensive) and thoes kind of costs... make sure you can afford the car
I drive mine daily and that's why I bought it. If it was an older muscle car or a tempermental exotic, I would definately have a primary car and use the other on weekends and nice days.
Since this is your first car, I hope you not getting in over your head. Insurace is going to be outrageous, especially after a couple of tickets. If I had a car like this as my first car, I would have probably been in jail, in traction or both.

I park at a train station every day to commute to work. There is NO WAY I would leave the S parked there all day. Way too easy to break into, vanalize or steal.
If you do get an S as a daily driver, don't forget you will need to buy a set of snow tires for the winter. Most people end up getting winter wheels too. You should also consider a hard top for the winter so you don't destroy your canvas top with all the salt and crap. In the end I think you could get a reliable winter beater for less than the cost of the HT and a new Wheelset. These are real costs to consider. There is one other cost to consider. Check out the board and so some searches. Rain and snow have been some pretty strong players in some pretty expensive accidents. If you don't have a place to keep both cars, that becomes a concern too.
If you need a year-round car in a wintery area (like NY.) Then I would not suggest the S. Take a look at the Accord Coupe with the 6 speed and the V6.
