15K for a set of tires! wow, you are getting far on them man! most people report anywhere from 8-12K. so you are doing well

I use mine as a daily driver as well. All these "negative" points people have brought to the table are valid, but I, for one, love them. The loud engine (and exhaust if you go aftermarket), responsive ride, and "fit-like-a-glove and surround you" cockpit/interior make me love the car more and more each day.

My car is in the shop from a mishap this past weekend, and I now realize just how much I enjoy that car. To not be able to drive it everyday SUUUUUCKS!!!

Mechanically and structurely, the car will last a LOOOOONG time even as a daily driver. But I'm not gonna use mine as a daily driver because I hate shifting through the gears in the morning in horrible traffic when I'm still half asleep while trying to drink my coffee. And I got into an accident in the snow this year. I was going 15mph and the Kumho Ecstats slid on me. When it snows again, I'm not driving anywhere in any car PERIOD!

Daily driver here. Just have to deal with the little squeaks/rattles that pop up here and there. Simple remedy - put the top down!

Plus, I cover my car all day long and I get to park in an area that is secured by gaurds carrying semi-automatic weapons. No worries about vandalism here.

Sunny warm days only! I have my Passat for all other days. I don't want to expose the S to the New England snow and salt.

Daily driver here but I would say not to waste the S as a daily driver. Being stuck in traffic is really bad, crawling along isn't good for your S. Also, heated tranny in traffic might give you some unwanted grinds as well. If you have an automatic Accord or Civic, that would be ideal for daily driving. The S is meant for open roads, not stop and go traffic.

Stop and go traffic will give the most wear and tear on cars.

I would never be able to drive it everyday--especially in rain, snow or extreme heat/cold. With the top up, the noise is unbearable as compared to any good sedan. For me, the S is only for non-rainy days where the outside temp is between 45 to 80 degrees AND you do not need to haul people and things. Of course having the S as a second (or third) car is a financial luxury some people may not have...

I started out using it as a weekend/fun car, but now drive it in to work 3-4 times per week.
She's not very happy in stop-and-go traffic, but the better part of my route takes me through a heavily wooded park. There are even twisties and one or two opportunities to

...take her into VTEC land, so I always arrive with a smile on my face.
We also have underground parking, which is pretty sweet.

Now when the winter arrives, it's a whole different story -- she stays under cover for days or even weeks at a time.
