Default S2K Exclusiveness (vs Viper)

We've talked about this before in here, but I recently realized that in the particular area where I live it is more common to see Dodge Vipers than Honda S2000s.

Its kind of odd to see so many in a small town, but I see Vipers every 2 weeks on the local streets and they're not the same car! However I have yet to see a single S2K in this area- though I know there must be many.

Its made me question whether I really wanted to own a Viper. A couple years ago I thought it would be an awesome car to own/drive. Now I'm starting to see it as a redneck mobile because everytime someone wins the lottery around this redneck town they buy a Viper!

So I'd say s2k owners are in a pretty exclusive club- at least in this area. But when I win the lottery what car should I get? The new NSX?

-B

Disclaimer: I grew up in this redneck town, so I use the term "redneck" affectionately (not)

Yea go for the '03 NSX, im pretty sure thats what im gettin. If the Skyline GTR R35 (or infinity gtr or whatver nissan misnames it) is out at the same time I may pick that up instead. Even if the new supra is out in 2003 also I dont think itll win my heart over the NSX or GTR. If I come to my sences and decide to invest most of my money and buy a cheaper car then ill end up with the RX8 or the S2K. Hmm, the Caddilac EVOQ could be nice too... then theres the Lotus M250 if that ever makes it over here.... AHH too many choices! On of my best friends is gettin the 2003 Viper RT/10 which is gonna be hot cause theres never any vipers around here... never any NSXs either. Everyone is into benzes and porsches and bmws and escalades and navis and stupid common crap like that. Anywith with $10,000 - $20,000 into my car I should be able to whup his ass .

how many people win the lotto there? damn!
i guess it's VERY different where you are, because I never see Vipers...ok, well, once in the last 5 or so years. There's plenty of s2000's and especially boxsters (ugh) around here.

In this area people play both the Indiana and Kentucky lotteries. There really aren't that many winners- I'm exaggerating, but the local news does stories on them occasionally and they always seem to pick up a Viper with the winnings. One lady bought 2. I feel sorry for this one woman who won and I heard wasted 40K+ a piece of 2 PT Cruisers when they were first out (I knew the dealer who sold them to her).

The most common sports car around here is the Corvette. Of course we are only an hour away from Bowling Green Kentucky where they make them. I toured the plant a few weeks ago...

Vipers are one of the most exciting cars that I have ever driven. The power and torque is unbelievable, but it's also a pain in the butt. With our S2Ks we can sit back, drop the top and relax as we cruise. It's not like that in a Viper. You always have to be "driving" the car, and fighting to do so. I like my S2K.

around here vipers seem to be exclusively in the garage......s2000's exclusively on the street........vipers are garage queens for sure!!!!and in the valley the landscape is alive with honda's

hell..i see more kit cobras[and real ones too] on the street than the elusive and mercurial viper.
