Default S2k in the future..

Dad talked to the insurance guy today and my dad said its a good price. So now we're gonna start lookin for an s2k. Unfortunately i'm gonna be lookin for a really cheap price like under 20k. Any tips when haggling? I found a couple cars i'm interested in.

good luck.
for that price, you are probably only going to find a 2000. And it probably won't be low miles.

Best tip for haggling is to be reasonable. Offering 15K on a 2000 or 20K on a 2002 is not reasonable, for example. I hope you'll be able to find one. As an aside...must be nice for dad to do that for you

yea my dad has been lookin out for me pretty good, i just got a new rsx in november and wrecked it at fault in february, kinda lucky that my dad is giving me another chance.

I found a 2000 s2k with 58000 on it, listed for 18000. its about 2 grand more then what my dad wants to pay

Also found one with 72000 on it wants 17200 for it but its got CAI on it and he removed the emblems, i just dont feel he took care of that car.

I don't know if you're going to find much below 18000.

You might have to come up with the difference yourself or wait another year or so for prices to drop enough.

Good luck.

just remember that selling a car with a salvage title is difficult if you want more than 60% of the current value.

I wouldn't buy a car with a salvaged title.

If you can't spend up to $20K, I woudn't bother getting a S2K. I'd get something else (WRX, ITR, RSX Type S).

I found a 2001 with 28K miles for sale at a Toyota dealership a month ago. They had it reduced to $19,995. Good price for the year and mileage. Appeared to be in good shape.

After owning an 01' S2K, I highly recommend trying to purchase as new as possible (at least an 02').
