Can drive it very fast with little experience needed.
I can definitely agree with that statement!

I have both an S2k and a P-car. The GT3 is something special, but if I had to get rid of a car, it'd be the Porsche. The S2k is just too involving.
To me, it's more fun to push a slower car.
Keep the Cayman. Add an S2k.

If you can afford to have a car w/ a 132k MSRP sit in your garage and depreciate, by all means, get the GT3. As much as I love my s2k, price was major factor in my decision to purchase.
Agree.

As much as I would love to own a GT3, I will always keep my S2000 specifically for the 5,000 miles or less that a fun car sees in my garage. I could not bring myself to spend that much money to only have the car sit idle in the garage 98% of the time.

Plus, as stupid as people drive around here I would be afraid to allow it on a public road.

The real question is what are you going to do with that extra $100K if you got the S2K???

Maybe you could make a S2000 BETTER than a GT3

Get an S2000 and supercharge it! 375+whp is easy and only another 5-7k on top of the price of the s2000.

Magmir, 996 GT-3s are about a cheap as they'll get, so that's one argument to getting it now instead of the S2000. Awesome track car, but consumeables are much more expensive then the S2000. On the other hand, I do track days with a bunch of guys in 997 GT-3s and my S2000 on R-comp tires stays with them until the right foot pushes down.

How about a 996 GT-3 and the Cayman's topless stablemate Boxster S? From a track performance and consumeable cost standpoint the Boxster has very little on an S2000, but you can keep all the traits you like in the CS with a car you can drop the top in. Just a thought...but wouldn't be my choice.

Buy the S2K, and make a track monster. That way, you can have a nice DD while having an awesome track car. I don't think it's close. But the GT3 is pretty sick... the answer would be both. A lot of people have a GT3/M3 combo which I think is what I would do if I was ballin' outta control.

You have a daily driver 4runner, so how about this.

Buy the s2k, eventually sell the Cayman S and upgrade that porsche to the GT3. Now you got best of both worlds.
