if the plug in the rear is identical to the connection at the back of the head unit then I would say yes. Otherwise, I don't see why it would stop anyone from using the product. It's a difference of 10min of install time between the two.

I just like the idea of the ipod out of sight. Good find tho! I got a buddy at Circuit City so I'll be going there over the weekend.

do you have to take the entire center consule unit out to replace the head unit as described in a recent post on the electronics section?

Above your head unit are two little vents. Pop the entire vent off and you will get access to the head unit screws. THere's only four screws to remove.

Don't you have to remove the center console on AP2s?

That's a good question. I have an AP1. Maybe someone with an AP2 can chime in.

nice price! but i also found ipod connector a bit more expensive but it allows you to control the ipod and the control on your driver side as well.
either way both are great! just the ballar peeps would get the higher price.
the site even shows you how they install it on a s2000 too!

A while back I installed the unit from USA-Spec in my AP2. It will not plug in the trunk. The head unit has a female plug and the cable in the trunk has a male end. The cable these units come with have a male end also, so they must be plugged into the head unit.

The USA spec ran me about $100, took about 2 hours for me to install, taking my time, and utilizes the dash controls and still retains the ipod's controls too. The sound quality is awesome. I've got 60gigs of music in my car now and this was the best mod I've done to date. I never drag a cd out of the house nor do I use the radio any more.

I don't have the same unit because I wanted to be able to control the Ipod via the dash controls but it plugged into the trunk with no problems.
