I think that the very best thing about owning this car is the community that surrounds it. I've never been part of a car club where the members are so helpful. I get waves and thumbs up from fellow s2000 enthuiast all the time. This really is a fantastic car.

Oh, by the way, this is my second s2000. First one being a sebring 2002.

It's really designed around the driver, not the passenger as you've found out and as the dashboard layout suggests. It is a submersive experience designed to focus you on the driving; it's all about the drive and little else. The S2000 is a driver's car not a passenger car and that's what makes it special and unique apart from anything in it's class and price range.

It's not the "best" car but what it does it does extremely well and at a price which most middle class people who crave the sportscar driving experience can afford. You seem to fall into a narrow segment of the population who can appreciate what it offers.

I don't blame you for being put off by the passenger side. I hate riding shotgun in the S2000, It's not comfortable unless you're small and I'm not. But like I said and you discovered. It's a one seat car with a milk crate for a willing victim passenger. It suits those it suits and no one else. The S2000 is a highly subjective choice in automobiles.

It's small. It doesn't carry much luggage. It doesn't have a great sound system. It's loud. It's stiff and hard on the ass after a couple of hours. Most of all it's fantastic!
Damn Erik, my words exactly. Very well put

i have not driven a ton of cars....couple MB, 350z, and just basic cars

i never considered myself a car guy. I loved SWB jeeps, had the suv/truck thing. cars never really interested me. Fast n furious thing is stupid to me, still is, and not much fun driving a mustang, etc

But i know the s2000 has spoiled me and ruined all other cars. well obviously there will be cars that would be considered more fun, but not at this price point. I'm on my 2nd one as well, because i regreted selling the first. puts a smile on my face everyday

...the engine felt so much smoother as it revs up beyond 7k rpm...I went up to redline for the first three gears and little aggressive on the 4th...
This is why you should never, ever buy a car that's been used as a demo. HPH

That goes without saying. You should also never buy a former rental car. Let's not tangent off into a "proper break-in procedure" thread however. It's been done too many times in the past and won't add anything.

Please don't reply to this post, it's rhetorical.
