S2K picked up yeasterday - first impression
First of all, hello to this forum.
After some time looking around, talking to a few people. I finally picked up a 01 S2K. Not often you see 6 year old cars that are mint and have 15K miles.
First driving impression is........ my license is so gone. I need to do trackdays
Fantastic car, very solid and awesome motor. My wife drives a stock 300ZX and I already prefer the S, but those are completely different types of cars.
Few quick observations:
- what is wrong witha stock radio? I found mine great, clear and plenty loud.
- 6 speed short throw is a bit different then a 5 speed I am used to
- handling is so good, did I say it was good, scratch that, its foocking awesome
- chassis has a great solid feel, much stiffer then a 300Z
- fit and finish is much better then my mates vette
- and the motor....hehehehhe, sweet and mellow down low, but a mean scremer past 7
- my license is at grave risk, but maybe I can prolong that with radar detectors, and doing track time.
Well, this is all that you probably already know. Just excited to get a car that exceeded my already high expectations.

Where are you from? Calling your friend a 'mate' seems to imply you're from Australia or something?
Yeah, great way to start a year. I dont think I was this excited about owning a new (used) car.

Congrats and welcome. My 01 had 10K on it earlier this year...I know how you feel about your find.
The radio will not matter to you AT ALL for a while. If that thing didn't have a radio in it-you wouldn't even know it 'cause you are having so much with driving.
Give it time-you'll agree that the radio sucks.
