If you are willing to spend 25-40k why not just pick up the cheapest one you can find (<10k)and spend the rest in rebuild\repaint\mods. Can you even imagine spending 20-30k in mods?!?! Holy crap that would be an insane car.

???? I could have said the same thing about your 40k dream CR..... You don't make much sense. Which car would perform better? a 30k car with 10k in mods or a 10k car with 30k in mods?

My suggestion?,,, NOT that I, "know" better,, BUT,, after YEARS into "cars",,, $$$$ spend on cosmetic "accessories",, is wasted,,, Get a NICE AP1,, upgrade the front and rears to AP2,,, NICE clean set of wheels/tires,, drop it an inch,,, boost it,, subtle interior upgrades, nice stereo upgrades, and DRIVE the $HIT outta it daily,, ALL day,, the 2000 is a GREAT looking car as it is,, WHY screw with that????,,, boost, nice wheels/tires will make it into a GREEEEAT car, that you can drive everyday, ALL day,, with never a worry,, Why make a GREAT looking/performing car into a, "ricer"???? Then if you ever decide to sell it,, you're group of buyers is going to be MUCH greater than a group of, "kids" with little to no money,,,, Just my .02,,, You're mileage may vary,,,
holy commas dude

Mods devalue quicker than the car it goes on. Forget that money pit. Keep it stock and cruise.

Use the extra cash and get into another hobby.
