That value of the dollar has changed quite a bit in four years.

so has the market...thinking they can get near retail new is crazy, but they'll get it...if not from the OP then from someone else...the question is, is it worth 31k to you?

If you can check the VIN maybe it's listed in the S2000 registry (https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/784722-s2000-registry). If you can find the previous owner I'm sure you can get a more detailed history than the detailer is willing to disclose.

I pm'd you a history of the car so check you inbox.

In short:

Heavily autocrossed by first owner.
Looks clean and stock now but was modified and tuned fairly extensively for auto-x and then returned to stock for sale.
Not kept very long by following two owners.
Good rule of thumb for track or auto-x cars is to double the mileage to account for increased wear so 19K would be more like 40K on a normal car.
31K is in my opinion to much money for this car.

Hope this helps!

Also dont go for the no test drive dealer bullshit if you are considering laying out 31K for a car you have a right to test drive it before you agree to buy it!

Thanks everyone for the info. I agree that 31k is way overprice for this CR (Summer pricing on a convertible sux). I think this CR is worth maybe 27k? But I will go check the car out tomorrow and let ya'll know how it goes. Worse come to worse .... I'll wait for winter pricing =).

Winter pricing FTW. Where is this dealership? I know someone who tracked and autoxed their CR and sold it to a dealer recently.
