is the S2k safe???
Theres a great book on the S2000 by Daniel Carney through Motorbooks Colortech which has a section on the crash reliability and the S2000 recieved a 5 star in its class. It has a lot of techinical info on this subject if your that serious..
But like others have noted, you buy a car like this due to its inherent performance which helps you AVOID accidents. The European cars and a few Japanese cars are designed with this in mind as well as safety but thier prioroties are different. My personal feeling is that most American drivers need to makeup for their insecurities by buying SUV's and big cars, but i think the bottom line is to buy a car that will help you avoid accidents.

Yes, it is very safe in my opinion. Unforunatly I crash tested it myself head first into a pole. Holds up very well to impact and the frame is very stiff to protect the cabin area. As long as you wear your seatbelt (which everyone should), you dont have to worry about rollovers. I have seen video of a few flipping over and the drivers walking away without a scratch.
