i'm new to this board.. i plan on getting a 2002 s2k black w/red interior.. first thing thats got to go is the sound system.. i was wondering if someone had the specs on:

tweeters + speakers.. can the tweeters be changed JUST by changing the actual tweeter, and still making it look very stock.. i just need it to look perfect and what size are these things.. 1inch?

also i was wondering if anyone has tried listening to the momo/polks through crutchfield.. are they any good?

2. before you do anything to the sound system, find someone who has lucid's rear speakers... so you can hear the difference.
some type of rear speakers are a necessity- and so surprising in sound that you might even decide to get them and then spend your money on some other mod!!

 

If you have a 2002 adding rears is a must. It has more power than the previous radio. The front channels drive both the tweeter and door speaker. The rear lines are unused. I would suggest putting in the rears before ditching the head unit. If you do ditch the head unit, sell to someone here, I'm sure theres a bunch who would want it for the older models.

 

i'm definately getting rid of the head unit, i saw the threads about your rear speaker, and was going to do it, but first i'd have to change the front speaker and tweeter.

i was going to get those polk/momos or mbquarts.. probably the mbquarts cause they sound so clear

i was just stuck on the tweeter and speaker sizes.. i was hoping to drop in a component system without changing the looks whatsoever.

I'll wait till one becomes available... If no one else sells one till May, they I'll consider yours I've lived with mine so far, a few more months won't make a difference.
