Default s2k stealership problems

heres the story people....... i installed a aem v2 and invidia catback exahaust last week on my new 05 gpw that ive had for just about a month now. When installing the intake, i removed the front bumper and mananged to break off the bracket that hooks the bumper under either of the headlights. (i broke the passenger side one).....anyways i go to Hoehn Honda, Carlsbad CA, where the car was purchased to inquire about the small plastic bracket that i broke. Without it there is a small gap in between the headlight and bumper that i just cant stand. The service manage says,"why did you took the front bumper off, was it to install a cold air intake?" ........i confirm his accusations. Then he says "how many miles does this car have".....2270......"what year?".....05..... "well i regret to inform you that you have now voided the warranty on this car. The warranty that covers the drivetrain, has been completly voided."

To my knowledge, to void the warranty, the part that I installed has to be proven to be the cause of a problem with my car, correct? they cant just void the warranty JUST because its on there right?

my question is what to do, return the thing to stock and enjoy it? sell this thing and get something that the stealership wont freak about a damn cai and catback? or do i just mod away and give them the finger???? any insight would be great guys, i dont know what to do.

nyeah.. i dont think they can void the warranty unless they can prove that it damages the car in some fashion.

What I would do is...get the manager that you spoke with's name. Have a friend call him stating that he is your lawyer and that you plan on contacting AHM about the mistreatment as well as taking him to court. Im guessing he will revoke his statements.

Well, give the tech guy a fair chance to be wrong. Call the manager or try another dealership. Give them an out so they don't lose face.

If that doesn't work, then I would bring out the big guns. No need to show your hand this early in the game, and it's ok to be fair for a bit.

Don't worry about it. I hydrolocked my frigging motor with an AEM intake 2 years ago. My Honda dealer had a brand new motor installed in 4 days on a holiday weekend. I would however talk to a higher up at this dealership and express my anger at being given this B.S. Another Honda dealer near me offers S2000's with installed cold air intakes.

the damage must be proven to be caused by the non-OEM part. end of story.

hydrolock...yes. that can be traced th an intake.
broken timing chain? you tell me how an intake or exhaust caused this.

thanks for the replies, i have a meeting with the manager of the dealership tomorrow. we will see whats up, im not too worried about it, its just not cool to hear that this idiot wants to void my warranty a month after i get the car....... other than these petty complaints, i love this car to death, best damn thing ive bought in a while!
