You're not taking it in for warranty service now, right, or did I miss something? Buy the new bracket to fix what's wrong and blow the asshead service manager off. I wouldn't waste my time talking to the GM right now.

I have been waiting to buy a new 2006 S2000, but am begining to have second thoughts. Why? Because I have NEVER seen a manufacturer give so much crap about warranty repairs! It seems like there are way too many instances of Honda dealers doing everything they can to not honor warranty claims. You can not point the finger just at the dealer either. They are obviously doing it for a reason. If Honda would pay the claim, then why would they turn down the business? Why would they make a customer mad? The only reason would be because they are concerned with not getting reimbursed by Honda. I wonder if all the "ricer" morons I see doing really stupid stuff to their "slammed Honda, Yo!" has not made Honda so quick to void warranties? I agree, if you install a cold air intake and the motor injests water causing hydrolock, then YOU are at fault if the cold air intake did not have proper water baffleing built into it. But, if a timing chain breaks, how was that caused by an intake or exhaust? These stories are really making me take a negative view of Honda as a company.

Jeff, it has NOTHING to do with the manufacturer. It's the dealerships. If you come in for warranty work, the dealership does not fix the timing chain, then tell honda you have an intake, and then honda not reimburse them. it doesn't work like that. a dealership will get MORE money if the repair is paid for by the customer vs honda paying for the warranty repair. hence the reason some dealerships try this shady crap. blame the dealership. it has NOTHING TO DO with honda. (except for hondacare extended warranties. different boat there)

You can buy ANY car and have just as much luck with their dealerships. this is not specific to honda.

while you may see a lot of threads about shady dealerships trying to void warranties, how many people actually DO get warranty work done on modded cars and post a thread about it?

Just the other day I had an ABS sensor replaced. as far as the dealership knows, i have intake, exhaust, and aftermarket rims (larger than stock) and the dealership didn't blink an eye.

thanks for the replies, i have a meeting with the manager of the dealership tomorrow. we will see whats up, im not too worried about it, its just not cool to hear that this idiot wants to void my warranty a month after i get the car....... other than these petty complaints, i love this car to death, best damn thing ive bought in a while!
IMO I'd print up a copy of the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act and give it to them.

Then, take your business elsewhere. I would never go back to that dealership ever.

from personal experience as a 5 year dealership tech its japanese manufacturers in general that have difficult warranties.

i had a service writer tell me my non-oem oil filter was causing detonation in my moms maxima (there is a TSB for all 6 coils). she was just trying to get me out the door. never fixed.

now....i am a tech for ford. we can goodwill repairs without even CALLING the regional rep. many factors come into the decision.

You could drive up the 5 to San Juan Capistrano and talk to Tony at Weseloh Honda. They have a large base of S2000s they service.
If you really like to drive then head up to Honda World in Westminster. They are at the 22 freeway and Beach Blvd.
Avoid that place in Carlsbad since the writing is on the wall and it says WE ARE STUPID, MORONIC, AND WANT TO SCREW YOU.

Here you go, everything you could possibly need to now about you and your warranty regarding aftermarket parts.

How does Honda World Westminister treat S2K owners?

They're about 5 mins from my work, might want to take em up for business if they are good.

Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act
....they cant just cut it like that. Maybe the guy thought you were trying to get the clips on a warranty claim? This would void the warranty for the bumper clips, as the installation of the product caused the damage.

I HATE MORONIC DEALERS!

As far as Honda as a company, they are not that bad.... EVO owners have had their warranties voided from bragging online that they auto-x their cars! No real proof needed!
