Default S2K is totaled, what to do with it?

Hey guys, I was involved in an accident last weekend and did a bit of damage to the rear of my car. The damage would have not been that bad, but I did end up bending the frame of my car. My question is, what should I do with the car? The engine (90K miles) and Tranny (60K miles) were not damaged, the front is completely fine and the interior is still in great shape considering the car is a MY00. Is there any sites or places to sell a wrecked car for parts? I have never been in this situation before.

Or buy a kit car and put the engine in there. Lotus 7 anyone?

You could replace the rear frame section pretty easy and fix the car. You can pick up a rear frame cheep

If there was an insurance claim, you no longer own the car. You would have to purchase it from the insurance company to part it out.

I thought the same until I called my insurance company. I guess the way it works is that they will subtract what it would be sold for in its salvaged state from the settlement, if you chose to keep the car. I'm under the assumption they will more than likely try to screw me with this figure, which is why I'm looking to possibly do this on my own.

uh.. If I were you, I'd hate to go through the hassle of parting all these out myself. Rarity of good condition MY00 just increased. O.o

Sorry to hear about your accident. If you decided to part it out, I'll take the air guide plate. Let me know.
