You should be able to pretty easily buy a new rear subframe to fix the car, there are a number of reinforced after market ones as well as you can probably find some oem ones for used on a car with front end damage.

I wouldn't mess with it. Just let the insurance company keep it, and you take the full payout to buy your next car. If you buy it back, it will likely come with a salvage title, and you'll probably use the full amount of their payout to repair the car.

I would consider keeping it depending on the price, fix the rear subframe and build a track car with it. Selling it will be a pain though since you would have to sell it super cheap with a salvage title

It all depends what the buy-back price is.
If it's cheap enough, buy the car and part it out.

Or just take the full paycheck and shop around for a CR!!

I guess first see how much they offer for the car. Then make a decision depending what the offer is. That's the first I would do before deciding anything else.

FYI - don't just settle for the first amount the insurance company offers you. For example, I, not too long ago, purchased a used 2002 GTi for 10k. Within 3 days, a person driving a truck lost control of his vehicle and ended up t-boning my car. The insurance company told me that the market value of my car is $10k...which would have been fair I guess, but the only reason I was able to purchase the car for $10k is because I knew the guy and he was cutting me a deal. REAL market value, based on commercial sales and not private is $15k. I sent the insurance company three autotrader advertised vehicles similar to mine and the insurance company wrote me a $15k check.

make sure you get whatever taxes you'll pay when you title or register your replacement car from the insurance company when you settle--for example--if you get $18k and your tax rate in your state is 5%-then make sure you get the $900. Most insurance companies won't offer to pay it --but they owe it to you if the car is totaled-it's a normal cost of replacing the car with one like it (which is what they owe you)
