Default S2K IN TROUBLE PART 2

Man to be honest i am ashamed of the S2K in the speed department!!!

S2K suppose to be a roadster man! It is phenomenal on the track, but it lacks the drag!!! It lacks it way too much. Honda should have came up with something that has more horsepower when they came out with the AP2. At least another 40 and 5-15lb of torque!

AP1 models which started out around 240 horsepower and when they came with the AP2 model it still stay around the same horsepower.

For cars like the cobalt SS and other cheap cars that packs a punch for the S2K its embarassing! losing to those car on the straightline if you guys know what i mean.

Losing to cars like Cobalt SS or Hyundai Tiburon for instance is just SHAMEFUL!!.

For the money we spend on our brand new S2K it lacks the horsepower.

What do you guys think about this?????

I agree to a certain extent.

It is sad that a Cobalt SS is faster than a S2000 but then you have to remember even though the S2000 was updated in 2004 it really hasn't changed since it's launch in 1999/2000. Yes I think Honda could have done a much better job for the AP2 (not bashing it but they could have given it more torque/hp).

I think it comes down to what would you rather own? A slighty faster economy car or a slightly slower sports car?

Same here. Sometimes I feel like my S is making a lot of noises but going no where. Thing is I am more of a road race fan than a straight line speed fan.

Drive downtown (or whatever popular hangout spot) in your S2000 with the top down. Now go get a Cobalt and do the same.

Sometimes it's not about all out speed.

It's not designed overall for straight line racing; rather circuit/road courses. Take all those cars you just listed to the track with a good driver behind both the S & whatever & see which car yeilds better results.

Honda didnt design the S to be fast in a straight line, unlike domestics. Also keep in mind that the AP2 is based off a 2004 design. The BHP standards have changed in a course of 4 years.

any car could be fast if you wanted it to be. for all you know, turbo firefly's could smoke you, but does that mean its an overall better car? Sure there are tons of faster cars out there, but id still rather have the S over alot of them for other reasons than its 1/4 mile time.
