S2k or Vette if $ were =
I'll give you a hint
. Here are the cars that I currently own:
2000 S2000-- weekend car
2002 RSX-S-- wife's car
1995 Civic EX Coupe-- work car
1994 Del Sol VTEC Si-- rebuilding
1993 Integra GSR-- drag car
I have owned a Honda since I was 17. I like their reliability, performance, affordability andcost of ownership. I can do most of the repairs on the vehicles which saves a ton of money and the parts are readily available and inexpensive if you know where to look.

Most responses so far echo my thoughts. The vette is just too big and fat. Look at the '63 vette. A sweet little 2 seater, like the S2k. Though the vette has seemed to continually gotten bigger over time, this current model has that huge flat ass that does nothing for me at all.
While I've only owned 3 Corvettes I've driven almost every year car and All years since 1962. I would have gone with the S2000 anyway when I bought it because I like the smaller size. If the ZO6 had been available and was priced the same I probably would have gone with it. You've just got to drive one of those beast to understand what a great car it is.
I disagree.. I don't like any year as much as the body style they're on right now. I don't like the look of older cars. I guess it's all personal preference. And to answer the thread I would take a vette(z06) over the S any day of the week if I could have the Honda's premiums too. -gage

My first choice was a red z06..even had put a deposit on one in Dec. for a March delivery...when I found out how much insurance was going to be cancelled the order a got my second choice the S2000. After driving the Honda I have no complaints, however I do miss the rumble of the Chevy's V8. Also the convertable is a lot more fun, I never did consider a rag top corvette.
My wife and I were having this discussion the other day- the Z06 is a car I'd like to drive because it will definitely outperform the S2K in every area, but given that the average person can't tell the Z06 from the standard model, it is less attractive to me. Why does it matter what other people think? Not sure, but when you pay so much for a car that you may never compete in, you certainly want it to be a bit of a status symbol. If you pull up in a Viper, heads will turn. If you pull up in a S2K, some heads will even turn. If you pull up in a Corvette, not matter what model, in this area, someone in the crowd might notice. I guess I'm down on the Corvette look because I can't throw a stone around here without hitting one. Noone has any originality...they just go to work and buy their Corvette when they accumulate enough money. Its as if they aren't aware that there are other options.
So our discussion led to- Yes, I might get a Z06 over and S2K if it included some kind of body kit to distinguish it from the slew of regular Corvettes in this area. I would not want to have one with the factory look since there are only very minor differences in the cars visually (rear vent brakes, different wheels, different emblem). I took the tour of the Corvette plant last summer in Bowling Green Kentucky.
Now an older Corvette might be different...except its hard to find one in good shape.
