Default S2K Vs. 2012 Civic Si

I used to own a 2008 Civic Si coupe, other than cosmetic and suspension work the motor was kept completely stock. It was a great car both on the track on as a daily driver, but the S2K grew on me to the point where I traded in my Civic for my 2006 S2K. I can't say I have any regrets, but refuse to drive it during the winter so I bought an 00 CRV to get me through the snow. Since the initial concept designs of the new Civic Si were released I must say it's growing on me a little. The rumored 2.4L K24 and more torque may actually become a big selling point. Of course there is little to compare between the Si and S2K, such as handling and the ability to put the top down, RWD and so on. But eliminating the need for a winter driver and still having the ability to perform in the 1/4 mile is something I may actually look into.

What do you guys/girls think, would this spark your interest as well?

I've been wanting a new DD, might look at this instead of a truck Think it'll tow the S?

If I were to get rid of the S2000 in favor of something more practical it would probably be a TSX. I can't see the point with a FWD 2-door car anymore...the S2000 has spoiled me. Give me good handling and RWD sport car or I'll just take a decent 4 door sport sedan instead of trying to be sporty and practical with one machine.

Maybe you should consider AWD cars like Evo or Sti? All the practicality of a sedan with a lot of the sport car handling and performance.

IMO, the Civic supplements the S2000, not replaces it. It would make a great DD, but it's no sports car.

If you want to perform in the 1/4 mile, a new civic si is not really the right car. You'd be better off with a speed3.

So you're looking for 1/4 times?

I don't see how you'd compare a Civic to an S2000, but I look at the S as a roadster, not an economy car. If you're looking for a fun car for all seasons with utility, why not a WRX? I think that for the money there are better cars than the new Si regardless - it depends on if you are looking to stay with the Honda brand or meet your needs, or both.

So I'm saying a civic is not the right car for him.

if i ever total my s2k i was really leaning towards the 2-door civic si, no it's not a convertible roadster, but it's still decent...
