I used to own a 2008 Civic Si coupe, other than cosmetic and suspension work the motor was kept completely stock. It was a great car both on the track on as a daily driver, but the S2K grew on me to the point where I traded in my Civic for my 2006 S2K. I can't say I have any regrets, but refuse to drive it during the winter so I bought an 00 CRV to get me through the snow. Since the initial concept designs of the new Civic Si were released I must say it's growing on me a little. The rumored 2.4L K24 and more torque may actually become a big selling point. Of course there is little to compare between the Si and S2K, such as handling and the ability to put the top down, RWD and so on. But eliminating the need for a winter driver and still having the ability to perform in the 1/4 mile is something I may actually look into.

What do you guys/girls think, would this spark your interest as well?
I don't care about 1/4-mile times. I bought the S for it's handling and the fact that it's a roadster.

don't get too excited about Honda initial concept designs, they have a habit of watering down the finished product so much before it gets to market. I though the CR-Z was nice looking in it's initial concept design, the finished product looks like a turd. I think the domestics do a better job of keeping final products closer to initial concepts IMO, Honda needs to loosen up a bit and take some chances with their current designs, much too boring IMO.

S2k=sports car, si=eco sports car . Buy a Corvette, so far no problem in the snow here in NC, no complaints about 1/4 so far.

[QUOTE=bloodzombie,Feb 7 2011, 12:30 PM]If you want to perform in the 1/4 mile, a new civic si is not really the right car.

Nope. No interest in a Civic (even the Si) as it's not in the category that I'd shop in. Winter beaters aren't needed down here either. Obviously, YMMV.
