Default s2k vs Audi tt help please

My father is getting a new car soon to be a daily driver. I am hoping to take it off his hands in a year when i get my license. He liked the s2000 but was leaning toward the audi tt because of storage space...can anybody give me some advice as to what to say to him to sway him towards the s2k?

Tell him that the TT is a girls' car.

As someone who owns both. I think I can give you some help.

The TT is not a girls car....I won't even get into that.

Which model TT is he looking at? 180? 225? TTR or coupe? More details would help.

The two cars are TOTALLY different. One is a GREAT GT crusier(TT) and the other is an incredible sports(near race) car. TTR vs S2000 they both have the same storage, but the TT is slower, heavier, and can be driven all year round. The S2000 is faster, lighter, and handles better(stock vs stock). If you are comparing the coupe to the S2000, the coupe has TONS more storage space.

The two cars look and handle VERY differently. For me, my TT coupe is my daily driver, but also has been modified to the point where it is faster than the S2000. The S2000 is my sunny day top down car. I almost never drive it with the top up.

If you have any other questions feel free to email me, but it sounds like the choice will be up to your Dad. If he wants a car to cruise in the TT(for him) is a better choice IMO.

Here is an article that may help:

I was wrong, according to them the S2000 has 2 times the useable trunk space compared to the TTR. The top also goes up in down in ~5 seconds compared to over 10 seconds for the TTR.

I especially liked this quote...

After getting out of the S2000 every other car feels heavy, cumbersome, imprecise, untrustworthy and just plain less fun. It is the one car I desire for myself more than any other.

Good luck! Hope your dad makes the right choice.

Cheers,

Bryan

I got rid of my TT 225 coupe to buy the S2000 because I did not like how the TT drove. The S2000 handles much better. The S2000 is more of a sports car Vs. the TT which is more of a stylish touring car. They are really 2 different animals. Consider your decision to buy a S2000 carefully because it is not a good all around car like the TT. There are no fancy creature comforts like climate control or heated seats. The stereo in the S2000 just down right sucks where as the Bose system in my TT sounded awesome. There is next to no storage room in an S2000 and the TTcoupe with its hatchback could hold a ton of stuff in comparison. This is not an easy decision. I don't regret losing my ass on that TT one bit when I hit the canyons. You can't hear the radio anyway when the tach hits 9000 ;-)

He is getting a new car to be a 'daily driver' and he is looking at 30K+ cars??????

Hmmm...I could see looking at Acuras and Lexus or BMWs over 30K as a daily driver, but S2000? Good luck swaying him.

His lease on the BMW 528i is up in August, thats when he plans to get the new car. He loves BMWs but he saw they were restyling their whole line of vehicles...by the time i get my license, the new 5-series will be out...this way he can get the 5-series and give me the s2000 ..
